Frequently Asked Questions About Search Funds
Where can I find the Stanford research papers on search funds?
What do I get for being an investor in the search?
When the business is purchased, we carve out a portion for those who funded the search. You obtain a 50% top-up of what you invested. So, if you invested $100K in the search, you will get $150K worth of shares in the target business that is acquired.
When the search is complete and you acquire the target business, what does the acquisition structure look like?
The business is purchased using a combination of investor money and commercial debt. Portions of shares are then carved out for those who invested in search, and for the search team (Elvin & Simon). For details, please see the Private Placement Memorandum (PPM) or contact us. You will need to contact Levion Partners to obtain our Private Placement Memorandum.
How and when do I cash out?
The company will either exit (be acquired) or issue dividends.
